Maliputo Served Sinigang-Style

Just like the tawilis, maliputo is a fish that is harvested from Taal Lake.  The maliputo is seasonal, however, so if you see it on a menu at a restaurant in Tagaytay, you may want to check for availability first.

On rainy nights (or cold summer nights), you might want to try it sinigang-style: a sour broth with lots of fresh veggies. You can have some over at Mer-Ben in Tagaytay City.

When Was The Last Time You Had a Mushroomburger?

When was the last time you had a mushroomburger?

When was the last time you had a #MushroomBurger? We particularly like their #MushroomFries as well! #WhereToEatinTagaytay #TagaytayCity #TagaytayLiving

The very first time I had a Mushroomburger was way back in 1990 or 1991– and it was at the exact same location as where it is today.  A regular burger back then was just Php5.00, and Php6.00 for a mushroomburger with cheese.

These days, we stop by mushroomburger every few weeks or so.  In fact, every time we have balikbayan guests visiting from out-of-town (or even just regular bakasyonistas from Metro Manila), we’d recommend a visit to good ol’ Mushroomburger.

Don’t forget to throw in an order of Mushroom fries as well– a little pricey, but we’d like to think it’s a bit healthier than regular french fries (think of them as mushroom tempura with your burgers).

Dining Privileges at Antonio’s Restaurants via Booky

The Antonio’s Group of Restaurants currently houses four of the largest restaurant names in Tagaytay, namely Antonio’s, Breakfast at Antonio’s, Balay Dako, and Lanai Lounge.

Since the establishment of Antonio’s in November 2002, it has consistently gained recognition for its excellence in the food and beverage industry, gaining appeal both locally and internationally an achievement helmed by their highly respected chef and owner, Tony Boy Escalante.

In 2015, S. Pelligrino officially named Antonio’s as the 48th Best Restaurant in Asia, also making it the #1 Restaurant in the Philippines.

As of August 2016, guests can enjoy the Antonio’s experience even more as the group has joined Booky, the country’s premier restaurant reservations and privilege platform.

Booky currently has over 400 top restaurant partners in Metro Manila where users can enjoy discounts and free dessert whenever they book a table via Booky’s offline mobile app, which is free to download on iOS and Android.

The Antonio’s Group of Restaurants officially serves as the pioneer out-of-town establishments among Booky’s restaurant partners, the largest roster of partners throughout all restaurant reservation platforms in the Philippines today.

In its vision to become an everyday utility for food lovers across the country, Booky allows its users to enjoy up to Php500 off their total bill at Antonio’s and Breakfast at Antonio’s, and up to Php300 off at Lanai Lounge and Terraza by Balay Dako.

“The Antonio’s Group of Restaurants are often people’s first choice as dining destinations, so it made sense to have them on board as our flagship partners in Tagaytay. Booky complements the group’s high standards of service and we will continue to work on maximising our partnership,” says Booky’s CEO, Ben Wintle.

For only Php199 per month, guests are entitled to enjoy Booky’s premium service called Booky Prime, where they can avail of unlimited discounts at its partner restaurants. New users may sign up for a free trial and instantly get Php1000 worth of discount credits which they can use at these establishments. Even without a subscription, Booky allows its users to search over 15,000 restaurants and 10,000 menus in Manila, Tagaytay, and Baguio even while they’re offline. Concha’s Garden: Alden Richards’ Garden-Inspired Cafe

Concha’s Garden is an offbeat garden-inspired restaurant and one of Tagaytay’s best kept secret restaurants serving classic and well-loved Filipino dishes. This is its 2nd branch and is owned by Alden Richards.

Concha's Garden Café - SignageSince the spike of his and Maine Mendoza’s celebrity tandem ‘AlDub,’ Alden Richards became a household name in the showbiz industry. He has become the face of several brands like McDonald’s, Nescafe, and more. Fast forward to summer 2016 and he’s now ventured into the restaurant scene, opening up a garden-inspired cafe in Cliffhouse, Tagaytay.

Concha’s Garden Cafe is a cozy and quaint restaurant specializing in Filipino dishes. It has beautiful interiors straight out of Pinterest, making it a great place for unique out-of-town escapades. Diners love how it’s a home-away-from-home, a refreshing experience compared to the usual crowded restaurants in Tagaytay.

Its first branch is located inside Mother Earth Gardens in Sta. Rosa Road, Tagaytay. It is the passion project of Gemma Sembrano, a top-selling insurance agent who brought her dream cafe to life in 2014. Inspired by her grandmother, Gemma kept family recipes they’ve passed down many generations ago. When Alden first tried their food 2 years ago, he’s been a regular ever since.

Concha's Garden Café - Fern Salad

Concha’s Garden Café also offers a number of salads, including the Ensaladang Pako– a fern salad garnished with fresh onions, tomatoes, and topped with slices of egg.
