Our good friends over at Estudio Artesana create the prettiest, most beautiful crafted flowers for your design requirements for weddings, parties, or events.
While we were waiting for a shipment of crafted flowers we were going to use for one our events in Tagaytay, we managed to have a chat with the artistic genius behind Estudio Artesana.
The Paper Artist
From the word “Artisan”– which means craftsperson-– Estudio Artesana had humble beginnings as a simple hobby, but turned out to be a serendipitous business opportunity for Karen Tacderas, owner and proprietor, to showcase her skills as a very capable artist.
“I began creating paper flowers as my hobby,” she shared with us. “Even today, it is one of my greatest joys to create something beautiful and unique from things people would usually throw.”
This appreciation for the arts and creativity, as it turns out, runs in the family. Drawing, painting, sculpture, design, and crafts are typical activities in the Tacderas household.
“As a mother, I used to create simple arts and crafts for my children,” she explains, “from organizing their birthday parties to helping them in their art projects, even in decorating our home. Even now that i am already a grandmother,I still do artsy things for my family.”
Crafted Flowers from Estudio Artesana
Typically commissioned to create lovely pieces for weddings, parties, and corporate events, Karen works with just about any material requested by her clientele– typically custom or luxe paper, or colorful crepe paper for various themes and motifs. Given a choice though, she would prefer to be more environmentally-conscious with her work.
“Many of the products I sell have minimal impact on the environment because I use recycled paper from magazines, newspapers, phone directories, and other materials that i think would be beneficial in promoting eco-friendly products in the market.”
“Being in business is not just about making money, it is more of an expression of myself- what I believe in; what I want share with others; what I am, my values and my ideas.”
