Hello, Metro Tagaytay!

Metro Tagaytay’s territory covers the entire Tagaytay City, as well as the adjoining Cavite towns of Alfonso, Indang, Mendez, Amadeo and Silang.

The term “Metro Tagaytay” isn’t exactly an official designation, although it has been used mainly by real estate developers, wedding vendors, hotels, restaurants and other business owners operating in the neighborhood.

While there are rumors that the wheels have been turning to make Metro Tagaytay official– and thereby bringing Alfonso, Indang, Mendez, Amadeo and Silang within its jurisdiction– we can only speculate on how soon this would actually happen, and more importantly, how it would affect local business.

Travel and Tourism.  This one’s a no-brainer, considering how close Tagaytay City is to Metro Manila, as well as how it is conveniently located on the way to (parts of) Batangas, even Laguna and Quezon.  (Tagaytay City is still part of Cavite, by the way!)

Metro Tagaytay is a popular tourist destination, attracting regular folk from the big city, as well as foreign visitors looking for a little adventure or relaxation.

As such, you have a plethora of hotels, bed and breakfasts, resorts, as well as restaurants, coffee shops and other recreational facilities in and around Tagaytay.

One of our favorite restaurants in Tagaytay is Breakfast at Antonio's, which is conveniently right along the highway, on your way to Nasugbu from Tagaytay.

In Conclusion

Metro Tagaytay has so much to offer: it’s got a lot of big city conveniences, as well as business opportunities, but you still have that much-needed laid-back and stress-free lifestyle that provincial living brings.

I now call this place home.  After living and toiling in Metro Manila all my life, how can you not appreciate the unpolluted Tagaytay countryside air?  You’ve got a great view of Taal Volcano and the lake, a lot of places nearby to visit, and most importantly, it’s still relatively close to Metro Manila if I need to get some business done.  Needless to say, I love it here.

Look at that view! Balai Taal has a number of houses available for rent. The gardens below are also great for wedding receptions.

The view, first of all, is spectacular. You can take in the scenery on your way to where the houses and gardens are. There are four or five three-storey houses which are being rented out, each one having five more-than-adequate bedrooms, a fully-equipped and functional kitchen, living room and dining area.

We’ve booked a house for each of our families for wedding preparations.

The gardens are just as well-maintained. We’ve been told that they hired the same landscaping team as Antonio’s Restaurant in Tagaytay, as well as Fernwoods in Quezon City. These gardens are frequently rented out as wedding reception venues, and we’ve had many clients who have had their weddings here.
